Biological Fountains (Trickle Towers)

Nevada Water Gardens started working on the Bio Fountain in 1987 and have upgraded its design several times since then. By 1990, we felt we had produced an outstanding product and have stood behind this design since that time.
The fountain is constructed of 3"-5" lava chunks that are epoxyed together. The plumbing comes up through the center. The size of the plumbing is determined by the size of the fountain. See individual fountain descriptions for specs. All plumbing is standard schedule 40 PVC and the base coupling is designed to receive rigid or flex PVC.
The inside of the fountain if filled with crushed lava for additional media. The fountain should be set up so the bottom is about two inches above the surface of the pond.
Flow rates are just guidelines, however large flow rates do not affect the efficiency of the fountain but can cause splash problems.

The Advantages of Using Our Bio Fountains

1. Helps oxygenate the water. After water passes through, over and around the filter (and digestion is complete) the water coming out of the bottom of the fountain still contains 100% dissolved oxygen for that water temperature.
2. Bio Fountains require almost no maintenance. The system is down flow and the only maintenance is to remove algae growth from the top if it blocks water from going down through the center of the fountain. In Las Vegas, that is approximately 2-4 times a year.
3. Depending on your location, the Bio Fountain can act as a cooler. Here in the desert with the high temperatures and low humidity, the water coming out of the bottom can be 12-15 degrees cooler than water coming up the center.
4. In addition to it's terrific biological benefits, the Bio Fountain (Trickle Tower) also adds the soothing sounds of a waterfall to your pond.
